Three Tiers
As a member of Yankton Verve, we hope you will take advantage of all we have to offer. We have three primary committees that focus efforts in the areas of: Civic, Development and Social. We know that each person is looking for a different experience so we strive to offer diverse events. New ideas and new members are always welcome so please contact us today if you would like to get involved.
Civic – Events are organized to emphasize community involvement and enhancement and provide an opportunity to try out a variety of volunteer opportunities. Giving back to the community that you call home makes it a more viable and enjoyable place for all. This committee is instrumental in keeping members involved in government, economic and community issues.
Development – Events are organized to provide members with opportunities for personal and professional growth and an opportunity to connect with influential leaders in our community.
Social – Events are designed to expose you to new and different venues in town. These casual events are a great way to expand your circle of personal and professional contacts.

What is a Yankton Verve Committee?
In order to execute all of our objectives, Verve has established three primary committees: Civic, Development and Social. Two elected Board Members manage each committee. Committees meet about once a month to discuss Verve objectives and strategize how to execute such initiatives effectively.
Why join a committee?
Committees allow members to take leadership roles in the organization. They also allow you to meet other Verve members on a more intimate level, while having fun in the process. It is by far the best way to get more involved within the organization.
How do I join a committee?
You may simply email the Executive Director which committee(s) that you are interested in joining. Someone from that committee will respond within a couple days of your e-mail and let you know the next steps to get involved.
What is the time commitment of an average Committee Member?
Committee membership is all-volunteer based. We all have real jobs and lives. Therefore, whatever available time you have, we can use. Board members typically spend more time on Verve related projects than committee members, but a committee member should expect to spend 1-2 hours per month working on Verve related projects.
